Contemporary Keyboardist, Richard Carr, spent 10 years playing and honing his craft in the nightclubs, hotels, and restaurants of the French Quarter of New Orleans.
After his tenure in New Orleans, Richard traveled to St. Louis, spending twelve years in the music scene there. He continued playing gigs in nightclubs and hotels. Richard also was the Artist in Residence and Co-Director of the Midwest Music Conservatory in the St. Louis area for 8 years. He had a studio of over 35 private piano and composition students.
As a player, Carr is at home with all styles of music. Richard’s compositional process and real love though is improvisatory in nature. Concerts frequently begin with a new creation/improvisation. He believes that this approach permits the passion and emotion of his music to come front and center.
The next stop on Richard’s journey was the beautiful city of Monterey along the central coast of California where he currently resides. He has released twenty-five solo albums and one collaborative album in the contemporary instrumental /new age/HEALING music genre and is still going strong.
